Chettinad is well known for its Chettinad cuisine, mansions, and temples.
"Chettiar" means a social caste that specializes in the preparation of food. Chettiars are considered master chefs who prepare food that reflects the excellence that people in Chennai/South India look for in the preparation and serving of food.
Chettinad is well known for its traditional, cultural heritage, art and architecture. It is also well known for its houses, embellished with marble and Burma teak, wide courtyards, spacious rooms, and for its century mansions.
Highlight of the restaurant is Maami starters, wherein Maami’s will make homemade traditional starters.
Condiment trolley is an additional highlight to this restaurant. Wherein we have 10 types of chutney’s, pickles.
The main spices used in the cuisine are:-Cloves, Marathi mokku, star anise, Kalpasi, fennel seeds, jeera, cinnamon bay leaves, peppercorns, fenugreek, red chillies.
All the spices used for cooking are freshly handpounded and our chefs are also from this part of tamil nadu
The paintings inside the restaurant showcase the lifestyle of chettinad. They are painted by the famous art director Mr. Totta Tharani, who has won several awards and accolades
